It's a Houndstooth kind of day

It’s a Saturday morning, I need to leave my house – I haven’t in days. I grab a hat to cover the un-washed hair – story of my life. The hat only helps a little – another story of my life. The next best step in pulling myself together – graphic tee, coated denim and of course shoe-pants. 

Shoe-pants: shoes (i.e. boots) that disguise/cover your legs, and pants for that matter, so much so, they could be worn as pants. 

            1. Today my shoe-pants are giving me a wedgie. 

            2. Are you wearing leather pants? Yes, can’t you see them under my shoe-pants?

They keep me warm, they add edge and they are damn sexy. 

A bold print was a must with this look. Over the past few weeks Zara has been running their annual sale to make room for late Winter and early Spring arrivals. I went. I saw. I conquered. I ran straight to the outerwear, a girl in Chicago NEEDS her outerwear, to find amazing coats in plaid, print, leather and houndstooth. They were all priced like a Mac N Cheese sale at Aldi. I looked around to make sure nobody else noticed what I had discovered. I get very territorial when shopping – like a momma bear watching over its baby cubs. Touch my rack (of clothes that is) and it’s over. Anyone else like this or do I have a problem? Anyways…I snatched this amazing houndstooth coat – with a number of other great finds.
