Back to School Fashion
Wait! Hold up! Is it really time to start thinking about back to school fashion? Where did the time go? Summer was a quick fling that won’t call or text us back for another 9 months. Ok, but, it’s Friday and thats something to get excited about right?! And, back to school fashion and shopping for my “first day of school” look was always my favorite way to end the summer!
I remember it like it yesterday – I begged my mom to take me shopping at all the cool shops (i.e. Contempo Casuals, Gadzooks, Abercrombie & Fitch) for my first day of school look. I mean first impressions are everything right? Even on your first day of school. Ill never forget after the phenomena of Clueless, I wanted nothing more than a good plaid skirt, knee high socks and some mary-janes – everyone wanted to channel their inner Cher right?!
Even though my back to school days are behind me, I was feeling a little nostalgic today and was inspired by “back to school fashion”. It started with this color block tennis dress and zig zag sweater from Design History. The lightweight knit makes it perfect for a transitional piece from summer to fall – it’s got the cool breeze of summer and the color palette for fall. Since casual is my game, I needed to add some Sportsanista flare – these Nike Sky Hi Dunks and this balling leather ball cap from ASOS. They make for the perfect back to school combo! And don’t forget your backpack – this satchel from Linea Pelle is my take on todays backpack – it can be hands free and the perfect carrying case for your computer!
Whats your favorite back to school fashion memory? Thanks for stopping by!

Back to school shopping was my favorite! All the new clothes and shoes hanging in the closet and not being able to wear them until the first day. And then picking out THE outfit for the first day. SO much fun!
I remember starting off each school year thinking about what trend I would embrace… was it the preppy look (inspired by Brittney Spears Hit Me Baby One More Time video)… or was it the vintage look where I can shop at Goodwill for all things pretty… or maybe it was the cartoon character’d shirts like Batman or Superman. Ohhh the good ol days!!
obsessed with that hat! I’m not going back to school but I would totally love to wear this haha!
