The Poncho that Saved Thanksgiving
Does anyone else feel like the weekend came and left like a ninja? I mean, that was way too quick! What did you get after this past weekend? I did a lot of working and a whole lot of nothing else. Sometimes it just feels like it never ends. Now I’m in Christmas shopping mode – three weeks too late. With each day we get closer to Christmas, the panic sits deeper and deeper in my chest – thank goodness for express shipping.
To back track a tad, over the Thanksgiving break I shared my food gluttony, but what I didn’t share was the outfit that got me through it. Ponchos were all the rage in the 90’s and are rage-tastic again today. My poncho count has gone from zero to six just this season…whoops 🙂 My most recent purchase was this adorable monochrome poncho from Shop Sosie. It has a chic edge with a side of mumu comfort. You can cinch it at the waist, but why do that if you don’t have to 🙂 The length of the fabric almost makes it feel like a blanket and for a day of eating, you don’t need anything else. I paired the poncho with a few Johnny Cash pieces – black turtleneck, black distressed denim and my favorite black booties!
