Happy Friday friends! Hope you are all gearing up to enjoy the long holiday weekend that we all deserve am I right? Today the Stylelogue is back serving up another trend report, and one to help you close out the summer and start the fall season on the right fashion foot! As a whole look, they make a power play – as separate pieces you have to versatile items you can wear 10 days till Sunday.

Today we are changing the way you look at suiting – that wearing and styling suiting doesn’t have to boring or complicated, but can be fun! Also a big thank you to the Seattle Selfie Museum for letting us use your facility to photograph these super fun images!

BRIGHT COLORED SUITS

For the longest time, I had a love hate relationship with suits. I always felt that they were challenging to wear, I was never comfortable in them and they were ALL ill fitting. After many trial and error with the right brand, tailor fit and pant style, I finally found a combo that worked for me and my style.

Before the days of styling blazers with jeans, I thought that a blazer was truly only meant for work and wearing with SLACKS. Yes, SLACKS. I later encouraged myself to start dressing up jeans by styling it with a blazer – then it became a casual Friday look in my work wear rotation. From there I started to grow my blazer collection!

For me, it all starts with a good blazer – perfect fit, then bitching color! This light blue tailored blazer might be one of my favorites in my closet, or this transitional summer to fall burnt red suit. When shopping for them, I think of how I can wear them together and separately. Can it be worn for work, can I also dress it down, can both pieces live on their own in my closet – these are the questions I ask when purchasing and building the perfect suit!

This Ann Taylor suit is no exception that rule and is the perfect bright colored suits for the season! This raw honey colored blazer is beyond on trend – the oversized fit and jewel tone hue has me ready for fall! This blazer isn’t meant to be styled as a suit, but Ann Taylor makes a wide leg pant in the same color, so I mixed and matched to make this suit! I layered the suit over this cropped top and threw on some shiny sandals to make the perfect power couple!

HOW STYLELOGUE WORE IT

Cortney crushing this combo, also from Ann Taylor, in white! I love how Cortney tied in two trends we are seeing and that is oversized boyfriend blazer and the famous bermuda short, making a come-back for summer / fall! I love how this has an on-the-go effortless feel that can be easily transitioned with the simple styling of heels or sneakers. Her stellar combo, can also be easily transitioned in to separates for the summer and fall season with a few simple styling tricks!

Elisa always showing up with the perfectly polished look that would even make Carrie Bradshaw squeal. Elisa is a woman on her way to an executive meeting that she is about to own and crush with this stunning teal power suit! She means business (literally) with this suit and the gorgeous piping detail. When she takes the jacket off, she can easily transition the look from night to day by popping a few buttons on the blouse and adding a killer lip!
