Jewel Tones

Things that are embarrassing…..showing up to a friends birthday party, with a friend who is wearing the same sweater as you. Twinsies! So what do you do? Post the photos on all social media outlets to further the embarrassment. But hey, we rocked it! So that was my weekend, how was yours?

Things that are not embarrassing….wearing jewel tones in public this Winter. This is a total “shopping in my closet” outfit…no shame. There aren’t many things that I have taken away from school, but some of my fondest memories were the clothes my mother made me wear. I wore jewel tones before I even knew they were cool. Like doubled up two pairs of tube socks (one pink, one blue), scrunched them perfectly so that both colors were seen equally and oh, the best part, tucked my jeans into the socks. I only thought that was cool for 80 year old men….I was wrong. Ok back to my post…..

My point is you are never too old for something youthful, as long as it’s tastefully done. These teal tights by Hue, have been sitting in my closet, waiting for the right opportunity to be worn. The color combination just came piece by piece. It’s like decorating a home….start with one thing, and all other pieces will follow. Check out below how you can replicate the look!
