Every Road Trip Requires Tulle

Continuing from my post on Friday…if you missed it 1) shame on you and 2) you can read it here 🙂. After our day of eating, hiking and then eating some more, we woke early the next morning to hit the road to our next destination, San Francisco. Before we left, I felt it necessary to take pictures in something other than yoga pants. I went for something on the opposite of the spectrum..tulle.
While the rest of the campsite walked to get coffee in Carhartts, I twirled in my LOFT tutu skirt. Now, this skirt was on my LOFT winter covet list. The only problem, it sold out everywhere. I stalked all the locations in Chicago until one surfaced. I drove to the Michigan Ave. LOFT store, double parked my car a block over – a huge no no, and ran to the store. I came in hot rushing to the register to the get skirt I put on hold. Part of me feared that it would be gone, but LOFT is good to me. I left the store feeling satisfied, like I had just consumed a Chick-Fil-A milkshake. The high lasted for a second as reality hit me shortly after that my car was stranded, and double park. I ran from the store like I had just shoplifted the skirt, but I didn’t, you can check my statement. This is when you know you are a shopaholic, when you will risk pretty much everything for clothing.
This skirt is amazing and versatile. The first time I wore the skirt, I paired it with a tank and blazer; see here. My favorite way to style it? A big bulky sweater or better yet, a sweatshirt. Duh 🙂
Happy Monday folks!
