Cape me back to Milan

Happy Monday all! Hope your Monday hangovers aren’t too bad. I’m currently in the UK working on an event and will be here through the week – sleep is not something I do lately. Well, as they say, you can sleep when you’re dead right?!

Today I’m sharing a look from our Milan trip (wearing this fabulous cape) – I have so many stories and things to share…lets save that all for another post! We picked one day on our trip to walk around and see the city like true tourists – it was a “wham bam thank you mam” kind of day! We started the day at the Museum Della Scienza e dellla Technologia – say that 10 times fast. It was pretty cool considering we both have never been to the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. After the Museum we walked over to see two different churches, both so overwhelming and amazing. The first was the Basillica di Sant’Ambrogio (and the scene for this shoot – the light was amazing) and the Chiesa di San Maurizio al Monastero Maggiore.  While both churches, they were both so unique in their own way – the second one had every inch of the inside painted, it was stunning!!

Our last stop was in the Naviglio District, which we actually went back to later in the week for one of the best dinners we had all trip! We walked along the beautiful canals, enjoyed some amazing white wine (thats a lot for me since I hate white wine), and even paid a local artist to draw us the very scene we walked along to take home with us. Check out the view here. All in, we walked 8 miles – my dogs were barking! I wish I could do something like that on a daily basis….Europe I love you!

When putting together this look, I needed two things – 1) comfort for our 8 mile trek and 2) a whole lot of chicness because Milan would spit on you if you weren’t. I found the perfect medium in this amazing cape from ASOS. Everything about this cape is perfect – I’ve worn it to work, I’ve worn it out and now site-seeing! I didn’t think this cape could get any better until I paired it with these distressed skinnies – this officially became my spring uniform. How would you style it?

I found these perfect blue sunnies on our first day in Milan at a store called & Other Stories – that store nearly ran my bank account dry. They had so many amazing pieces and I managed to snag a few before I left – looking forward to sharing more 🙂
