Christmas is a thing of the distant past, but NYE is just a few days away. NYE is one of those holidays that I’m not really crazy about – for me it’s all about the company. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve worn a sequin dress on 12/31, with no tights, trying to hail a cab at 2:00 AM, heading to the after-party. Now I’m lucky if I make it to midnight to ring in the new year without falling asleep. #oldpeopleproblems More to come on NYE tomorrow. Today’s topic – this red dress.
I’m officially addicted to the California sun and never want to leave. No sleeves and no tights for the entire winter has me sold – Californians don’t know how good they have it. It’s great to spend time outside, even if it’s just to get coffee. As I’m typing this, I’m wondering why I don’t live here. We’ve take advantage of our long holiday break and filled it with lots of R&R. Back to reality is something I don’t want to do.
For my California Christmas look, I took one of my favorite red dresses and layered it with a turtleneck. I bought this dress several years ago, but it has such a classic silhouette that I’ll never give it up! The color was perfect for Christmas Eve church, obvi, but I needed a little something something to keep me warm. Yes, while the days are sunny, the nights are chilly. It’s a super easy fix to take a summer dress to another season. I topped the look off with a few simple accessories and then it was off to celebrate Jesus’s birthday 🙂
