Cut it Out
Happy Hump Day! Celebrating with a fun post I worked on with FTD Flowers on how to cut your flowers for a vase. I have a deep affinity for florals and cherish my weekly floral pick-up. I take care of my flowers like I do my shoes, with care. Today’s post is a quick, and fun, tutorial on how to match-make your flowers for a vase. It’s an easy way to learn how to cut flowers for a vase!

I love flowers! I wish I would get more for our apartment but I rarely find myself near places that sell pretty flowers!

This post is awesome and unique! I don’t think I’ve ever read tips on how to vase flowers, but boy do I need it!
I feel like I always do it wrong and they flop around the vase and don’t fit in correctly…and then they die fast! Great tips…and gorgeous photos!!

Love the photos here because I am SUCH a big fan of flowers. Literally I walk around my neighborhood, my work office, and everywhere and just take the pictures of flowers and save them for Instagram. I don’t know if it’s a problem or just really awesome but I love it 🙂 xx
so cute and I love those vases you linked from Target! I read the post and I especially loved the headings. Don’t get sharp with me!! hahaha so fun! I never buy flowers and only get them on special occasions but I love having them around the house! I need to send this to my parents because they have rose bushes everywhere!

totally agree with all of those tips! I cut my flower stems on the diagonal . This is such a fun post and reminds me of the cooler, sprint texas days!

Love having fresh flowers in my house! Now that I live with my boyfriend I’m trying to get my green thumb going, so far the only thing I can keep alive are these two giant mums I got last fall. All my herbs I’ve tried to grow have died within the month. ha

I love these tips! As a wedding florist, I totally agree that EVERYONE should purchase a pair of floral shears, they’re not expensive and you never know when you might get some fresh flowers!
We have 9 flower gardens in our backyard. Not kidding! We inherited them from the previous owners. There are so many different flowers and I cut them ALL THE TIME and put them in our home!! It’s so wonderful having fresh cut flowers! <3

Okay this is so perfect! These are the things I always want to know but am too embarrassed to ask my mom because she’s so good at all of the gardening/flower boutiques
Those blooms are absolutely beautiful! And what helpful tips! I didn’t know that flower stems should be cut at an angle. Great to know!

Beautiful and you did a great job showcasing how to style a vase of flowers using different size/shaped vases. By the way…I sooooo enjoyed your RS takeover…you looked so chic and you really showcased Chicago beautifully…BRAVO lady!
