Be Un-Traditional

Have you ever gone shopping with something in mind and found something else, something better that led you to be more inspired? Well I did! I’m getting married in just a few short months and it seems like my every thought is centered around creating the perfect event for our guests – what’s been pushed to the side is what I’ll be wearing to all our wedding events. I like to consider myself an untraditional bride – not like wearing purple on my wedding day untraditional, but more like, there are no rules to this wedding game untraditional.

Choose Surprise with Marshalls

I went to Marshalls in search for some new home items to brighten up our space post winter, and ventured over to the clothing section….as one does. Now let me preface this by saying, I love the whole wedding process, I wish I could freeze it in time, or at least some of the planning – my least favorite part are the unwritten rules / traditions that are entirely un-relatable to who I am. I’m actually encouraging people to wear white to my wedding – why, because it’s summer! In the coming months I have a bridal brunch, bachelorette party and a few other gatherings, so by pure happenstance I came across something that ignited an idea and inspired me shake things up!

Do Something Unexpected

There are no rules when it comes to getting married – the best part is you are your own boss and you can do as you please. Right? I was immediately drawn to all the neutrals in the clothing section at Marshalls and had completely forgotten why I was there in the first place – there were so many gorgeous blush, tan and nude hues I couldn’t control myself! The first thing I reached for was this STUNNING white, tuxedo-like, blazer. The blazer is made of this sheen material making it easy to dress up and down! The second piece I grabbed was this delicate lace top by Alice & Olivia – lace six ways to Sunday is a super hot trend right now that I can’t get enough of! I layered the jacket over the lace top and a light bulb went off! I was immediately inspired to do something different, to be different and shake my wedding attire up!The jacket and top inspired me to build a wedding (short)pant suite for my bridal brunch – something I would have never done had I not been inspired by what I found. These silk Bermuda shorts were my next find that really completed the look. To accessorize I found these blue suede sandals that gave my look that “something blue”. The blue suede sandals really sealed the deal on my unexpected wedding look and I love it! All thanks to that inspiring shopping day at Marshalls that lead me to choose my surprise!
