Carry on Travel Essentials

At the end of this week, Brian and I cruise the friendly skies over to Munich and Milan. We are extremely fortunate to have these opportunities to travel, and together for that matter! We are excited to explore these amazing cities and all the culture, and food, they have to offer. I’m salivating thinking about all the schnitzel and pizza we will consume – who needs a diet when you can have schnitzel!
Everytime we travel, I get super overwhelmed by the thought of packing clothes and products for 10 days. I mean every morning I sit and stare in my closet for at least 30 minutes for one outfit – imagine the time I take doing that for 20 outfits!!! I feel the hives breaking through my skin as we speak – ah! I have these hoarder tendencies when I pack and get really scared I’m going to leaving something behind. That all being said, I have to make compromises and find happy mediums on what to bring and what stays home. Today I’m focusing on some of my favorite products that I can’t live without, or travel without!
Clairsonic, Airbourne, Coco Butter Formula, Dolce and Gabana Light Blue, Cowshed Lip Balm, Rusk Texture Hair Spray, R+Co Dry Shampoo, Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray, Portable Sonic Toothbrush, Kaplan MD Lip Mask, Neutrogena Cleansing Wipes, Colgate Wisps, Ren Glycol Renewal Mask, Travel, Travel essentials, what to pack when traveling, cosmetics, toiletries
Here is my list (in no particular order), and why…
1) Clarisonic – This device saves lives, and there is nothing else that you need to know about it. You could basically lay in bed, half asleep, and still get your face clean with this thing. I bought one two years ago and have never looked back – my complexion bows down to the Clarisonic!
2) Airbourne – whether you buy into this vitamin packed remedy or not, I’m a big believer in it. I typically start taking Airbourne one week leading up to my travels and then of course, amp the dosage right before the flight. You can never be too careful especially when traveling abroad. Just think of what you would see if you put a black light to the inside of a plane – ew!
3) Coco Butter Formula – is the simplest product, with the most effective power. I use it religiously everyday to take care of stretch marks, prevent stretch marks and to keep me moisturized. When traveling, you to tend to fall out of your normal routine, including drinking water. It’s important to stay hydrated and moisturized on many levels. The travel size makes me smile and allows me to continue to my daily routine away from home!
4) Kaplan MD Lip Mask and Balm – Being on a plane for more than 1 hour makes me dry and dehydrated – eight hours just kills me! Kaplan MD has devised the greatest remedy and care product in the game. It’s super easy to travel with and will give your pout international recognition. The mask requires 3-5 minutes on your lips followed by a layer of the most luxurious gloss. It’s a great way to repair that pout after 8+ hours of neglect!
5) Cowshed Lip Balm – I fell in LOVE with Cowshed products after a stay at the Soho Shoreditch House in London. My lips have become quite addicted to the product and cry for it before bedtime.
6) Portable Sonic Toothbrush – I was at Nordstrom a few weeks ago to stock up on some products, and I stumbled on the cutest section of toothbrushes – toothbrushes! They were adorable, they were mechanical, they were portable and they were pink! I typically travel with a non-mechanical toothbrush, but I used a Sonic mechanical brush at home. Much like the Clarisonic, my teeth don’t feel as clean unless I use the mechanical brush. At last, the travel mechanical toothbrush! It’s lightweight and slim so it fits perfectly in your carry-on. This weekend will be my first trip with the brush and I’m looking forward to sharing my review! In short – this is genius and it’s about time!
Clairsonic, Airbourne, Coco Butter Formula, Dolce and Gabana Light Blue, Cowshed Lip Balm, Rusk Texture Hair Spray, R+Co Dry Shampoo, Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray, Portable Sonic Toothbrush, Kaplan MD Lip Mask, Neutrogena Cleansing Wipes, Colgate Wisps, Ren Glycol Renewal Mask, Travel, Travel essentials, what to pack when traveling, cosmetics, toiletries
7) Colgate Wisps – Going back to my comment on taking a black light to the inside of a plane, taking that same thought with the airplane bathroom. Yuck! The last thing I want to do before we are about to land is to go into the plane bathroom that has been violated for the last eight hours – no thanks. The gel center breaks once in your mouth to act as toothpaste and mouthwash in one. It’s a great way to clean your teeth and have minty fresh breath before you engage in conversation with the customs officer.
8) Ren Glycol Renewal Mask – You don’t need to leave your spa routine at home just because you are traveling! This glycol renewal mask gives your skin a fresh glow just after 10 minutes. It’s a great way to give your skin a boost once you’ve landed on the other side!
9) Rusk Texture Hair Spray – This product was introduced to me through Birchbox. After my first use I swore that I would never use another hair spray ever again! Don’t let the word “texture” scare you. The product itself it lightweight and doesn’t make your hair crunchy. It adds simple texture to a look taking it from 0 to 60 in one spray! This product requires no bend and snap!
10) R+Co Dry Shampoo – If you are like me, you wash your hair once, maybe twice a week. I’m not ashamed at all – my hair is much healthier as a result! For those “questionable” hair days, a good dry shampoo should always be at your disposal. Fun Fact – the creative director from Bumble & Bumble left to start R+Co hence it’s marketing charged packaging and catchy names. All that aside, this dry shampoo won’t leave you disappointed!
11) Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray – When your American appliances crash on you, because they will, it’s always good to have a styling product available for those days. Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray isn’t just for the beach – the beach wavy look is easy to replicate with a few sprays and gives you that chic effortless look.
12) Dolce & Gabana Light Blue – These days you can score just about any designer fragrance in a travel tube. I love this scent by Dolce & Gabana – it’s light, fresh and the perfect day scent!
