Because posting a Valentine’s Day inspired look today is totally unexpected, I’m going to post about a Valentine’s Day inspired look today 🙂 Now much of my life I’ve been a cynic (I still am actually – bubbly people frighten me). Valentine’s Day was never really my thing, and it still really isn’t our thing. When you are in a relationship, these types of moments should happen all the time, not when Hallmark says so. Sure, it’s a cute holiday – there are so many cute little candies, crafts, balloons, donuts, that its hard not to participate. The bonus to this time of year is that we see the use of a ton color as we begin to thaw from the winter. The days start to get longer, spring fashion is replacing the racks of coats and sweaters, and February also brings us New York Fashion Week – all of which makes me happy.

That being said, today I’m sharing a simple and easy look you can put together in two seconds. No need to go shopping as I’m sure you have all the equipment in your closet. Find a lace top in the red, pink, ivory color region, pair it with a skirt to match or color-block. Top the look off with a bright pump to accentuate the color, add some donuts, and you’re set 🙂 While I went for an all red look and pop of color in the heel, check out how these bloggers put their color-blocking skills to work – here, here and here.
