A couple summer brews and a few new tan lines later, the weekend has come to a close. It might be safe to say that summer has settled in, however you can never speak too soon. Snow in the coming days is a high possibility when you live in Chicago.
My post-L.A. high had fizzled; I was having designer cupcake withdrawals… wouldn’t you? During my trip, I read The Man Repellerfrom the creative mind of Leandra Medine. When you look up “blogger” in the dictionary, you will either find Leandra or her harem pants – either image would suffice. I have been a fan of her hilarity and man-repelling looks for years. A while back, my friend and I went to an event at the Chicago Art Institute. My outfit went something like this: chambray top, massive gold chain necklace, black maxi skirt and black platform wedged booties. Before she said hello, she asked me if I was planning on man repelling that night? Naive to what she meant, I immediately researched The Man Repellerto find my sister from another mister. The book is hilarious, insightful and relatable (e.g. Chapter – Period Panties).
Off subject from the Man Repeller would be my proudest find at a TJ Maxx – this Kate Spade Saturday dress. It was one of those moments where I checked the tag a few times to make sure my eyes weren’t playing tricks on me. The price tag made my debit card smile and the silhouette made me dance – we were fast friends. New summer dress in my wheel-house – CHECK! Event to wear it to – CHECK!
Happy Monday!!

Lovely dress. Love your blog. Check out mine, I'm sure you'll like it. http://www.wearona.com
Thank you!
I've been a fan of hers for a while too, but I haven't read the book. A chapter on Period Panties alone makes me want to read it.
You need to read it now!
This bag is too cute and I'm thrilled to have another book to add to my summer reading list!
