This fall has me all sorts of nostalgic with this seasons comeback trends. The 90’s kid in me is squealing for joy with all the white washed denim, chokers, half ponys and velvet! I can’t get enough of these trends and I’m lucky to have seen them comeback! Sure when I was a kid I was rocking crushed velvet dresses to school with a denim jacket – now that I a “big kid” I’ve been looking for ways to wear the trend, but dressing my age. When I walked in to a Marshalls a few weeks ago, I ran to this blazer praying it was my size. Sure enough it was and the rest is history. Sharing I how styled this velvet blazer for some Marshalls work fashion!
I’m LOVING the comeback that velvet is making and it’s a strong comeback! Every where I turn I see velvet – velvet bombers, velvet dresses, velvet camis and velvet blazers. When I spotted this tuxedo velvet blazer I squealed! I spent a majority of my week in business casual and I’m always looking for ways to incorporate trends from that season in to my work wear. It’s important to stay true to my own style no matter the situation. I scored this blazer for a $39.99 – I couldn’t believe the price point! For me the blazer was a major win and I could have gone home with that and been happy. On the same rack I spotted this gorgeous velvet and lace cami that I JUST couldn’t walk away from. The lace applique is stunning and acts as an accessory – I love it when the clothes do the styling for me especially when I am getting ready for work!
Now that I had these two velvet pieces that create the perfect duo, I needed some pants and accessories to complete this look for the office. One of my favorite colors this season is rust – it’s the perfect color for fall, it’s flattering for all skins types and acts as a great statement color! These rust colored pant a dream, and not because they were $39.99, but because of the cut. The wide leg crop is a super popular cut this season and we are seeing on everything from denim to slacks. When paired with a good heel, I think the cut is super flattering and not to mention, SUPER comfy! With my look nearly complete, I headed over to the shoes and bags section – I never leave a shopping trip without at least browsing this department J And there it was, with a golden halo around it, this crossbody with tassels. Are you ready for the price tag. Are you? You sure? Ok…..$19.99!!! Mind blown. Mic drop. This bag is by far the greatest gift and surprise that Marshalls could have ever given me. With a $100 budget in hand, I was able to put together a super chic look for work and something that can be easily taken to drinks with friends. Head to Marshalls for your next surprise!
