Tis the Season to Dazzle by Megan Riggs

Pier 1 Imports Wine Stopper

“It’s the most wonderful time of the year!  There’s parties for hosting, marshmallows for toasting and caroling out in the snow.”  As Emily Post taught us, if we are not hosting the parties, we are not to show up empty handed.  I have managed to pop, fizz and clink my way through a handful of holiday soriees this season and below are some of the hostess gifts I brought along to show my yule tide gratitude.

You can never go wrong with wine.  Add a little cheer to their favorite wine with a festive wine stopper and if you are feeling extra generous, an appropriate cheese pairing.  Mmmm cheese. These stoppers from Pier 1 are exploding with holiday cheer and priced right at $6.  As an added bonus, the shipping is speedy for those of us who live in lands far far away from the rest of civilization and major retailers.

Kate Spade Square Studs

It is always nice to give the hostess something she may not get for herself.  This year I fell head over heels for these square studs from Kate Spade.  Biaed? Maybe a little.  The vivid colors add a splash of playfulness to any outfit and they can be worn every which way till Sunday.  Not to mention, every girl should have a little Kate in her life.

Crate and Barrel

Lastly, for our sweet as pie hostess, you can never go wrong with a baked good.  At the beginning of every season I find my way to Target and purchase a few tins of peppermint bark, break & bake sugar cookies, and colorful sprinkles.  This is a cost efficient and tasty way to give thanks.  Nothing says I appreciate you quite like complex carbs on a darling snowflake plate!  Sidenote: Crate and Barrel is a great place to find inexpensive serving dishes and plates.

Keep it simple, keep it sparkly.  Happy holidaying.
