Happy Monday! We have arrived here safely in Munich and have been playing tourists all weekend. It’s a beautiful city and I love it even more for its normal spring temperatures – things like grass and flowers live outdoors here, it’s remarkable. So far we have visited the Marienplatz, ate at a Bavarian restaurant for dinner and had a beer, or two, at the Hofbrauhaus So far this trip has been all about the food and little to do with fashion
Last week I shared my favorite travel products and how they get me through my trip – check out the full story here. Today I’m sharing my packing style and my go-to travel look. I’m a big proprietor for dressing up on an airplane – there was a time when sweatpants weren’t in the vocabulary of traveling Americans. Dressing up wasn’t dressing up, it was what they wore every day. Pending on the flight destination, I’m quite particular about what I wear on a plane – I don’t really want to change once I land at a destination because I was “too casual”. The only situation where I want to change when I land is into a bathing suit.
For me, I rule things a little differently for overnight flights. My goal for those flights is to beat jetlag before I even land on the other side. I need something that is chic yet comfortable that I can sleep in for 6 + hours. Getting older means you worry about things like circulation (i.e. no skinny jeans on a 6+ flight). That being said, I’d like to think that I’ve found a happy medium for a chic, yet comfortable and practical look – and my old age circulation.
When traveling for long periods of time, I have to be smart about my packing – wearing something twice on a trip is OK For this trip I’m partnering with 424 Fifth, to share their spring collection and it’s versatility from a travel, to work, to site-seeing and good night out.
I started my trip with a casual chic look. I don’t have enough nice things to say about this 424 Fifth scuba jacket – the style is perfect for spring and the material is indestructible (or wrinkle free). I was able to wear it on the plane, sleep in it and salvage it for another look later on it on my trip – winning! Underneath the coat I wore this 424 Fifth basic white tee – you can never have too many basic white tees and you can never travel with too many basic white tees. I topped off the look with a pair of joggers and my new favorite Nikes – I used to be a “Free” girl, but now I’m a “rosche” girl all the way #nikelanguage.
Finally, I packed this gorgeous scuba embellished hat from 424 Fifth – it’s always good to have a bad hair remedy in your pocket while traveling. Nothing says chic bad hair day like this amazing hat.
Now that my packing anxiety is over, it’s time to enjoy the trip! Have a great day! Looking forward to sharing more from my trip!
love that hat, clutch, and coat! have an amazing trip!
