‘Tis the season for shopping, and gifting! This year I’ve partnered with Marshalls to share my #thebestgiftever story. All the Project Fab bloggers were given another blogger to shop for this holiday season – our goal , to give them #thebestgiftever. It’s no secret that I spend a large majority of my time at Marshalls, especially around this time of year. It’s the best place to find really great name brand gifts for less. Shop for him, her, baby and hostess of the mostess – or just shop for yourself like I do.
My secret santa blogger is super chic and adorable – I’m also jealous that she resides in a warm climate and has the ability to wear anything year round. With that said, I had to be crafty as it’s not easy to find warm weather pieces in Chicago…..anytime of the year. Keeping her climate and current trends in mind, I began the hunt for the Best Gift Ever.
From what I know about my giftee based on what the internet tells me (bloggers have a lot of internet friends), she wears a lot of dresses and statement pieces. I stumbled across a gorgeous silk tank dress with a ruffled bottom by Joie!! The dress retailed for $300+ and I scored it for $20 – the definition of a fab find! I’m never one to give someone an incomplete outfit. I mean you wouldn’t buy a baby gift and only get a dress – you need the tights, shoes and accessory too

After perusing the store, I came across a fabulous tribal print sweater wrap, with fringe! The print carried the color from the dress to make a perfect pairing. While the dress can be worn alone, the wrap will make the look more seasonal and keep her warm when it drops below 60

Of course I couldn’t leave the store without something for myself. While I’m in full decorating swing for the holidays, I also like buying pieces that look holiday, but can live in my house post Christmas. I’ve been looking for a way to decorate our dinning room table, but I didn’t want to overwhelm it – ya know, city living, small table. These mercury candlesticks were the perfect fit. I bought a ton of them to make some dimension on the table – don’t worry, there is still room to eat dinner on it. To make them look a little more holiday than domestic, I added some garland pieces around the bottom of the candlesticks. Santa is coming!!
