[/ezcol_1half_end] After an amazing weekend in Chicago, I am ready and recharged to start my week in Seattle…despite the gloomy weather that has finally hit! Fall fashion is all about playing around with layers, knits, textures, etc. It’s the weird, but fun time between summer and winter that can’t decide on what it wants to do, but your happy cause you don’t have to wear tights with skirts – make sense? This oversized sweater from Jill Sander, inspired to create a look based on how to style a sweater dress. Versatility is key with any fashion!

[ezcol_1third]After a couple months here in Seattle, I have been craving the energy of Chicago….and of course time with my girlfriends. There is something about Chicago that immediately puts a smile on my face – walking through my old neighbor gives me such a jolt of energy that it made for the perfect weekend remedy.
I started the trip with a dinner event with Armani Beauty – the event was at Spiaggia, one of the cities most famous restaurants! Dinner and good company is all you can ask for! We had the pleasure of dining with Tim Quinn, Armani Beauty’s celebrity make-up stylist. He walked us through the collection and their new pop-up at Nordstrom. The next day, I headed to Nordstrom to check out the Armani Box Pop-Up – it was everything a girl could dream of more. If you are in Chicago, you must check out the pop-up before they leave in November. Check out their full line and get a free make-up application! Click here to make an appt. WHY I LOVE THIS LOOK:
Jill Sander Sweater Dress // I am OBSESSED with this oversized I’m so many ways and it is what inspired me to write this post. Versatility of clothing for me is super important, especially if can be worn across seasons! Over the weekend I styled this sweater dress with a pair of jeans and booties and opened all the buttons. If you have an oversized sweater in your closet, try layering it over a turtleneck or tee and style it with some thigh high boots to “mind the gap”.
Waist Belt // Everyone needs a good waist belt in their life! Try this $39 version from Nordstrom – this wold be perfect styled over any dress, sweater or even coat!
Suede Slouchy Boot // ‘Tis the season for slouchy boots! I love a good slouchy boot moment in the fall – they are one of those go-to boots that are easy to style with just about anything and can be easily dressed up or down.

RECREATE THE LOOK
If you are after a more traditional style try your standard sweater – also another great piece to have in your closet for both fall and winter. It’s an easy way to elevate your casual look! This color block sweater dress is an absolute dream – it’s a great way to add some color in to your fall routine! If you want something more neutral / classic, try this turtleneck sweater dress – easy to style with boots or sneakers for someone on the go!
Try experimenting with some long cardigans in your closet and layering them over basics to create a look like the one in this post. This is a really great cardigan dress from Free People – you can add layers or not to this look! Here is a more traditional cardigan – try layering it over a cami dress like this and cinch your waist with a belt to complete the look!
