How to Style a Cropped Jacket

I’m enjoying my last day in Chicago with a fun event at the Peninsula Hotel and then I’m headed to the Housewares Association Gala tonight at Navy Pier! I’m ready for alllllllllll the food! With spring fashion on my mind, despite the 0 degrees today in Chicago, I’m trying to find ways to incorporate spring fashion pieces during these cold transitional days! This Topshop cropped jacket is the perfect twist on the utility jacket with a youthful edge to it – it’s a killing pairing with some high waisted denim! Today I’m sharing how you to style a cropped jacket for spring, but in winter temperatures!

HOW TO STYLE A CROPPED JACKET

Topshop Cropped Jacket // Let me start this off by saying, do not think you are too old to wear a cropped jacket. There are plenty of ways to mind the gap so that it feels age appropriate to wear. I personally like styling anything cropped in my life with a bottom that is high waisted – these Everlane High Waisted Denim pants have been my GO-TO this winter. The fit is impeccable, the wash is perfection and the waist line is exactly where it needs to be. For under $100, they are a GREAT jean that lives through many washes! I also do not like wearing jeans on an airplane, but the give in these pants makes them super comfortable for every day wear! Here is another example of how I styled another cropped jacket a few seasons back!

With sandal season no where in sight, I styled these Kate Spade Tall Suede Boots to complete my look. I’ve had these boots for a few seasons and feel like the style of the boot is classic enough to with stand the ever changing landscape of fashion! Of course I couldn’t go a day without my favorite $10 sunglasses from Amazon – they are truly a steal!
