College Football Week 2 – DIY

This week I took a different approach to gameday wear. Well, to be honest, I was inspired while cleaning out my closet, specifically when getting rid of all the sweatshirts I’ve bought, but wore never….
For some reason I have a sentimental attachment to this University of Minnesota sweatshirt my aunt bought for me almost 10 years go. Before I decided to put it in the Goodwill bag, I thought why not repurpose it into something I would wear? I had some extra studs from another DIY project so why not give it something extra.
Inspired to make your own? Here are the steps!
STEP 1: Get your mise en place together!
What you need:
-Old Sweatshirt
-Scissors
-Craft Studs (bought on Ebay)
STEP 2: If it’s a hooded sweatshirt like mine, cut the hood off at the seam. For a sexy, off-the-shoulder look, cut on the outside of the neckline seam and you’ll be able to get more stretch!
STEP 3: Pick a place on the garment that you would like to highlight with the studs….wrists, pouch, neckline…what ever tickles your fancy. I choose to line the outsides of the pouch with gold studs.

STEP 4: Pair it and wear it! I’ve paired the sweatshirt with some denim cutoffs, and my new favorite leopard slip-ons from Gap. This look is perfect a fall night game!

Shorts: Paige Denim (similar) | Shoes: Gap | Sunnies: Ray Ban | Necklace: Ann Taylor – old (#ChicMakeover, #ChicLifeStyle) | Lipstick: MAC – Heart Hangover
What will you DIY for this football season?
