#Blogger Brunch

This past weekend I hosted seven of my favorite Chicago bloggers at my house for a #bloggerbrunch. Hosting is in my blood. My mother hosts every holiday at her house and I, by default, have developed the hosting gene. I love nothing more than picking out a theme and putting an event together top to bottom. Sure hosting is a bunch of craziness and sleepless nights in-between, but it’s all in the spirit of creating a moment where people can be together and enjoy themselves.
INVITES –
First, the invites. Sure evite saves us a lot of time, and paper, but who doesn’t like receiving mail. I mean something other than a wedding invite or a bill, right? I found this amazing designer duo on Esty who put a blogger twist on this once baby shower invitation. Mind the smudge, I blurred my address – you know, security measures 🙂

GUEST LIST –
Next, the guest list. It’s really hard for me to get a blogger event, fashion event or just a plain ole event these days – you know work, life kinda takes over around this time of year. I have electronic relationships with all these ladies and felt it was time to make it official.

MENU –

Being a brunch event, I committed to breakfast items all the way. From baked brie with apples, to baked avocados, french toast, pancake muffins, yogurt parfaits and my first stab a scones ( I need more practice – says all the leftovers). The beverage area was cake – water and champs, with a splash of orange juice. I decorated the area with some great finds from Marshalls (mini chalkboards) and Target (straws – no one wants to smudge their lipstick). I added edible flowers to the station too – I mean why not? Brunch big or go home. I saw them in the grocery story and couldn’t pass them up. At minimum they added a beautiful touch to the cocktails 🙂
Here are some of the favorite recipes from the day!
Thanks for reading and enjoy the rest of the photos!

  1. Watch out Martha Stewart! This party was amazing – the decor, food, drinks, everything was perfect. I am so glad I got to join in! I'm wondering what it is I am doing on my phone up there while everyone is waiting on me – lol!

    Have a great week!
