What the Sportsanista Wore: Fashion in Military Time!

Happy Friday Sportsanistas!

So this morning my lovely friend Sheena, official Sportsanista photographer, and I did an off-site shoot today. Now when I say off-site I mean not in the alley next to my building, but near an abandoned warehouse a few blocks over…..soooo chic! My car served as the hot and sweaty changing room…so glam…..you are welcome to all my neighbors that walked by as I was changing…..tinted windows don’t work.

Ok, I need to call a timeout…..So I’m 100% obsessing over Fall fashion. I mean….the colors, the prints, the leather, the lace, the detailing…I die! I love it all so much that I’m incorporating pieces in to my daily wardrobe slowly but surely, however mother nature is not making any attempt to transition into Fall. As a result I fear that I have become the person people stare at on the bus…..cause wearing a sweater and a leather skirt is totally normal during 90 degree heat! I will sweat for fashion ok?! No judging!

One of my favorite trends for this Fall is the military/utility jacket, particularly the army green jacket. Those cold weather baseball and football games are just around the corner and it’s important to have some ringers in your dugout! Like a ringer in sports, the military jacket is a surprising element to any outfit. The military jacket adds a masculine, industrial style to your overall look in just seconds! Sure, you think it’s too casual, but I say, put down the haterade and try it! Pair it with a leather skirt, colored pant or a tailored dress to give it that effortless, I just added this to my outfit, I’m so trendy and hip, look. On top of that, the olive green helps to add more color to your complexion. And at the end of the day, what is a military jacket without some armor? I found these shoes at Zara in Shanghai, China, but they are totes available in the US now; they are a staple must have in your closet this Fall season! These shoes are most definitely my left tackle…..they protect my blindside…watch out!

Here are some ways to incorporate the military jacket in to your wardrobe for work or for play!
