Peanuts, Pretzels, Pizzaz on an Intern Budget by Megan Riggs

Oh the airport: strangers, germs, lines and overpriced
coffee.  Seeing as one ends up nearly
nakie after making their way through security, it is challenging to be chic at
32,000 ft.  However, this is no reason to
fly looking like a schlup or find a neck pillow to be an appropriate
accessory.

Sportsanistas, I am here to tell you it is possible to be both
comfortable and chic while traversing the skies in the giant metal bird.  Impossible you say?  Put your seat back up and your tray tables in
their full and upright locked positions, because you are about to find out how, all while not spending your entire tax return.
The key to successful flight fashion is selecting easily
removable statement pieces.  Every flight
outfit for me starts with a no fuss dress.
I am a big fan of this little nautical number from Old Navy.  It is versatile and only $15 – intern budget
approved!

To add a little pizzaz, think bangles and summer scarf.  The winner of the wrist glitz derby should be
of the cuff variety or have a magnetic closure.
This ensures you will not be “that person” responsible for holding up the
security line.  Take inspiration from
this beaded number from Forever 21.

The summer scarf deserves a high five and a complimentary
cocktail.  They have the ability to make
a simple dress a little more jazzy and allow you an easy way to mix patterns (I
said it, mix patterns).  This giraffe
number from Target is one of my new obsessions.
If you don’t already own one, it is in your best interest to take
immediate action.

Lastly, the shoes.  Our
fundamental fashion knowledge reminds us that shoes make or break an
outfit.  Much the like neck pillow,
rubber flip flops are unacceptable.
However, a strappy leather option like these bright coral (coral is the
new black) Volcom sandals are the perfect finishing touch.

Remember Sportsanistas, keep it easy, keep it chic.  Save and fashionable travels!
