Where My Boys At?

By request I have tailored today’s post to all the fellas I know and love in the sport industry. Now I’m sailing unchartered waters here, but how hard can it be? Let’s chat menswear shall we?

In the land of sports we see khakis, polos, pullovers and the Tressel vessels aka the sweater vest. Sure there is sideline gear that is required to be worn, but I’m also sure that wearing sweatpants to work is not a part of the job description.

Coach Nick Saban and Coach Dave Leitao are two coaches who I adore and are always put together; however, lets not forget that behind every well dressed man, is an even better dressed woman 🙂 Coach Nick Saban color blocking on the field? There is no better place! I say ROLL TIDE to that! I had the pleasure of sitting baseline with my pom poms watching Coach Dave Leitao coach my DePaul Blue Demons. Every game he did not disappoint with his tailored suits, custom shirts and matching ties.

With Coach Saban and Coach Leitao serving as my inspiration, let’s talk menswear….I’m all about pushing limits, being true and original to yourself; why be a Stepford wife (or husband) and look like everyone else? So I might be stepping out of the gate too soon with this, but I have a serious crush on colored pants this season and so do a lot of women…..this could only go one way for you 🙂 Spice up your blazer/shirt go-to with a color pant. This particular pant hails from Zara (european brand that has since moved to the US), and a great go-to for essentials at an even better price point.

With the winter months on the outs, the wools blazers will go with them. Looking for something a little more light weight? Try these cotton oxford blazers from Zara. Im all about versatility so pair the blazer with slacks or jeans!

There is something about a man in Chucks….or something about a man in Chucks I cannot say no to! Im all about the “it’s says ‘m serious, yet here to party” look. The leather and detailed laces add a level of sophistication to these Chucks…..wear them with just about anything.

I will leave you with this nugget…..The Style League, located in Kansas City, is a custom men’s clothing company that specializes in suits, blazers, trousers and dress shirts. The Style League proudly services local coaches and athletes. Aside from custom clothing, they provide services such as personal shopping and closet assessments…it’s genius I tell you! Let’s be real with ourselves, everyone could use a little closet assessment; I’m sure there are skeletons in your closet from your glory days that should be burned!
