It’s no secret that I’m a workout junkie – I love working out, trying new things and looking good while doing so. Yoga and Spin are a consistent fall back for me – they are both really great workouts that give me instant satisfaction. While comfort is a given in my workout looks, I love challenging myself to pair pieces that are on trend with what we are seeing during the season (mesh, faux leather, colors, etc). Marshalls has always been my go-to for any transitional workout gear for Fall – they have the best selection of brands at an amazing price. It certainly makes my wallet a little happier being able to walk away with multiple looks for my workout week.
With Summer closing out and Fall on it’s way in, I’ve been trying to limit my indoor workouts in exchange for outdoor ones. A workout like yoga is easy to transition from indoors to outdoors with a few simple steps – you can even get a buddy to go with you! I found this great yoga mat at Marshalls for only $12.99 – a no brainer purchase! To elevate my yoga workout, I added this tension band that was only $6.99 – moving through my poses with the band helps add a level of difficulty to my workout and gives what once was my regular routine, a little face lift.
The hardest part is trying to find time to workout and sometimes we don’t have it but, it’s important to find that time whether it’s five minutes here or there. I work next to Millennium Park in Chicago, so I can bring my gear with me to work for a quick workout during lunch. This mat and band weigh all of few pounds so it doesn’t add too much weight to my commute.
Looking good while working out to me is important to me – when you look good you feel good right? When shopping at Marshalls for workout clothes, I’m always looking for something to surprise me on the rack. It’s fun to find pieces that are on trend with the seasonal trends. So, you are likely thinking, trendy workout gear? Yes! The movement of athleisure has completely changed the way we dress for our workouts, and it allows you to carry over your personal flare! For me, I always gravitate towards pants that have mesh or faux leather detailing – for tops, I’m always searching for sports bras that are similar to crop tops with detailed backs. Business in the front and party in the back. This sports bra ($12.99) has so much personality that it would be a shame not to show it off – the pattern on the front incorporates some great colors for fall, and the detailing on the back is a fun element of surprise. The look I’m wearing today is meant to have two functions, work then workout! This Free People ($39.99) button-up is the perfect piece for your workout to work look. The button-up can double as a dress with a belt and booties, or you can pair it with some joggers like these. The colors are so on trend for Fall and easier to disguise your look! I styled this top over my bra and buttoned it up towards the middle of the shirt so that the bra and it’s amazing color pattern could pop through! It’s just the pop of color that the look needs! I tied the shirt at the waist to give it some shape – shape is key when pairing with joggers! To add some MAJOR personality to the look, I added these gold sneakers that I scored at Marshalls for $49.99 – it’s a great alternative to the everyday sneaker. In my bag I brought these black cropped pants with mesh detailing for my workout in the park. During lunch I tossed the olive joggers and swapped them for these pants that were only $12.99 – like seriously! Such a great price and the quality exceeded everything for me! I hate when my pants drop down in the back and I spend my time pulling them up in my workout. The quality of these Reebok pants were the answer to my athleisure prayers. With my navy Free People button-up and patterned bra in tow, I was off to the park for my mini yoga session. Once my workout was completed, I was back to work and no one was the wiser.
