Hello Hump Day! I am thankful for your presence and welcome you with open arms today – two more days until the weekend!! Is it me or am I constantly counting down until the weekend? You can’t fault me for that!

In the spirit of all things warm, I’m wearing a dress / cover-up from Marshalls with one of my favorite prints from Spring – PALM TREES!!! This palm tree printed dress is one of those easy pieces that you can take to the beach and dinner, if showering after the beach isn’t your thing – like mine. The sporty detailing in the collar is one of my favorite parts – aside from the $14.99 price-tag! Say what?!? Life doesn’t get much better than a good deal on shopping – can I get an AMEN! I’m looking forward to styling the dress off the beach with some great gladiator sandals and a leather jacket – the possibilities are endless.

Marshalls is one of my favorite places to shop before a trip – I know that I am going to successfully walk in there and get everything I need from a suitcase, to sandals, to cover-ups, to those tactfully placed sour Jelly Bellys at checkout – hmm mm, I’m looking at you Marshalls – it gets me every time. I’m a sucker for some good marketing.

Ok – real talk. This is something that I don’t do too often, because I struggle with the line between what I share on my blog and things I like to keep behind closed doors. To an extent, it’s important to keep certain things private, but then there are times when we can use platforms like these to get us through something with the help of friends. I love the blogging community for that – thanks for being an audience even when you don’t want to be one 🙂

So, I brought this up because yesterday I had a hell of a day. Now, to put this into perspective, there are far worse things happening in the world, my situation is a strictly “FML, I need tomorrow to come” situation. You feel me? It was just one of those days where nothing went wrong – it started with me spilling black cherry yogurt all over my white shirt and trench coat before 9:00am. Sure, something totally small and fixable, but nonetheless, an inconvenience. The day continued to go wrong for a number of reasons, I felt like there was nothing I could do to make the day go better. In fact, everything I tried only made it worse. Do you ever have one of those days where you just want to give up, quit, or walk away? I even had plans to burn some steam at a Soul Cycle class, but even sucked at that (again, trivial I know, but it was the principal for me – I wanted something to make me feel good). It wasn’t that I came home and realized that in a few hours the day will be over, and Ill have the chance to start over again. I have the most amazing boyfriend who comforts my soul in more ways than he can imagine. I went searching for the wrong sense of affirmation in trying to make something positive out of a negative, when it was there all along.

Thanks for letting me speak. Love you all!
