Now that I’m full-time working from home, I’ve found myself grabbing the same few types of pieces in my closet while everything else collects dust. Casual wear is my go-to style, but it’s important to stay on the other side of casual house-wear side of casual (i.e sweatpants and so on). Today I’m sharing my favorite outfit recipes on how to style casual basics in the winter – it’s a recipe you can interchange with most of your closet!

WHY I LOVE THIS LOOK:

Casual Duster // I’d been looking for a good grab-n-go duster for a while and found this version from Nordstrom, which is currently on sale for $50! It’s one of those pieces that is really easy to style and layer for most looks! California brings out all the casual vibes in me so I layered the duster over this Basic T-Shirt – you can never go wrong with having too many of these in your closet!

Levi’s Distressed Denim // Levi’s are one of my favorite and go-to denim brands, next to H&M of course! The fit of their high-waisted, or wedgie cut, denim fits like a glove and make “mom jeans” look good on anyone! I don’t own a lot of black denim, so when I saw these, I needed to grab them asap – a lot of their denim sell outs quickly too! Adding a pair of black denim to your arsenal helps break up all the blue denim you find yourself grabbing for! And the this Belt w/ Gold Buckle is a fun accessory up against the black denim as well!

Marc Fisher Booties // My all time favorite booties are these Marc Fisher Yale booties! I bought them nearly three seasons ago and they are still going strong! They are my GO-TO winter boot to style with denim, dresses, skirts, you name it! The toe is scuffed on my left bootie, but you’d never know because the material underneath is also black – so genius!! Honestly, they are the best $200 I’ve ever spent! And of course, I styled this J.Crew Mini Harper Tote with the look for a little muted color.
