Green Skincare Favorites

Over the last year, I’ve made a conscious effort to be more careful about the things I eat and what I’m putting on my face. Sephora has one of my favorite sections of green skincare products – it’s like a “skincare for dummies” section that works perfectly for me! Turmeric has so many great health benefits, but most importantly, it helps with inflation! This Turmeric Brightening Polish is a gentle exfoliant that clears away impurities and gives your skin the glow it needs – I’ll use this product in the morning twice a week. I love a good eye cream, but I have shelling out the cash for them! Anyone else with me? This Dr. Roebuck collagen eye treatment is under $40 and is the perfect nighttime eye cream.

When my serums run out I tend not to restock in the same product for two reasons – 1) I don’t want my skin to become too accustomed to something and 2) I like trying new things. I’d heard so many great things about the products from Biossance and needed to try them out for myself. This retinol serum is perfection – I use this both morning and night! I’ve started to work in toners back in to my skincare routine and started with this elixir from Caudalie. It’s perfect for travel and requires no cotton swab – just spritz and you ready to go! You can even use this as a make-up setting spray!

Skin Treatments

Skin treatments should be an essential part of everyones skin care routine – just moisturizing isn’t going to give you the skin you want! Now you can go to a med spa and spend $1,000’s of dollars, but these products do just the trick for now!

I workout just about everyday so I build up a lot of nasty stuff on my face that sometimes my Clarisonic can’t even get! These NEOGEN exfoliating pads are the perfect post cleanser scrub to remove anything and everything – they are also super affordable! If you want that EXTRA super deep clean, you can follow the pads with this Drunk Elephant baby facial. This product will tingle and maybe itch a bit, but at least you know it’s working!!

I am 34 years old and still can’t hid from pimples – it will never end, but I think I’ve found a product that will keep them all at bay! This Sunday Riley U.F.O Clarifying Oil will crush any impurities you have overnight – no joke, it REALLY works! I own two products from this line and they are heaven! Now that we have somewhat striped our skin with the above products, it’s time to add some hydration to the mix! This Summer Friday Jet Lag mask is the perfect way to re-hydrate on-the-go – I use this roughly once a week!

Make-up Must Haves

On to my FAVORITE section – make-up!!! I have tried SO MANY products in this area to create the perfect make-up combo for my skin – these products will never lead you astray!

After my morning skincare routine, I apply this Eborian Pink Perfect Creme that helps create a matte look on the skin – for me, oily skin type, I need a matte base before I start layering on cover-up and foundation! Depending on the day or what’s on my schedule, I’ll select a foundation based on those needs. I bounce between the I.T. Cosmetics new Matte Foundation (for more full coverage / long haul days) or the Milk Cosmetics Sunshine Skin Tint (for a more weightless, weekend look). Both are great in their own ways!

Last, but certainly not the least, is the Tarte Creaseless Concealer that will rock your world! Before this product I was a serial concealer trier – I couldn’t find one that checked off all the boxes until a Sephora consultant recommended this product. Just like the name, it does not CREASE which is huge for me – anything and everything that I tried would do just that! This product has changed my make-up routine forever!

If someone was to ask me “if you were stranded on an island, what would you bring?”….it would be mascara for sure! I cannot live without it and you will rarely see me without it on! My go-to mascara these days is the MILK Kush Mascara (for it’s clean organic properties) layered over my favorite Lancome primer (this product does wonders of keeping your mascara on your lashes and not on your face!).

After I purchased this Naked Heat palate by Urban Decay, I haven’t touch any other eyeshadow palate – the colors are so dreamy and perfect for every season! Similar to concealer, I have gone through so many highlighters looking for the perfect one – I recently got the Cover FX enhancer drop as a reward through my Sephora points. It’s the most delicious and addicting highlighter – the shades are perfect and it gives you the most natural glow. I feel less like a teenager when applying if that makes sense!

Before we move on from my favorite make-up products, I MUST share my two FAVORITE powders by Laura Mercier! I use this under eye brightening powder over my concealer every.damn.day – once I’ve applied my concealer, I’ll press a layer of the powder under my eyes and let it back while I’m applying my eyebrows and mascara. Before I put on my foundation, Ill brush off any residue and voila – my eyes are ready for the day!

This translucent powder is the cherry on top of my make-up routine! At the end of my routine I loosely apply this to my entire face and then set it with the Urban Decay setting spray (a product that legit works).

Hair Saviors

Ok and last, but certainly not the least, hair care! I’m a hair color junkie and have certainly put my locks through the ringer, but these products help them look nice and fresh, no matter how much bleach I put in my hair 🙂

The Ouai Repair Shampoo and Conditioner have transformed my hair in a matter of weeks! Because I color treat my hair often, it’s important to take care of it! The best part, these products are clean and paraben free! Once I made the switch to a paraben-free shampoo and conditioner, I noticed that my hair was feeling healthy and that there was new growth! All the things you want in life from your hair 🙂 After every wash, I apply this leave-in CC Cream from Alterna – it’s a really gentle leave-in product and the bottle will last you a LONG time!

Because I’m a brunette trying to be blonde, I follow the CC Cream with this Living Proof mending cream for your ends – works like a charm!

Now I’m not one for styling products AT ALL – I don’t like how it makes my hair feel and it doesn’t get me from wash to wash how I’d like, so I limit the products I use. Between washes I use this Dry Bar detox dry shampoo – I can’t say enough good things about it and oh, it WORKS! If and when I curl my hair, I always use this texturing spray from Ouai – it doesn’t leave my hair feeling heavy and stick and does the job!
