Oxblood + Leather

Happy Monday! Today I’m blogging from across the pond in lovely London. I love this place for its neighborhoods full of character, shopping and amazing street style. I could sit on a corner with my latte and just gaze at all the inspirational fashion walking by. Yesterday we did a little bit of sightseeing. Most of our work trips don’t allow for much of that, so when the opportunity presents itself we try and take full advantage it. We have been to London before, both separately and together, and there is still such much to see!! We rode the London Eye (which was great expect we were stuck in  a pod with a coughing sick kid – we were in an incubator of his germs – I digress), enjoyed the busy streets and dined at the Electric Diner by acclaimed Chicago restauranteur Brendan Sodikoff. We are big fans of his creations and concepts back at home, so trying a little piece of Chicago in London was a must!
Today I’m heading over to meet the lovely ladies of rewardStyle here in London! It’s always a good day when you can fill your day with a fashion pit stop 🙂 For the meeting I did my best to select the perfect “Londonite” outfit. This oxblood and leather look was exactly what today needed. Side note – have you been to Zara lately? I frequently visit the store and am one a first name basis with the door security personnel – for good reasons. This fall they have JUST been killing it. There is much goodness happening that I simply cannot put it all in to words, nor do I want to. This twin-set for starters is perfect for fall! The color and texture of the set is just what the doctor ordered – the flare in the skirt is all sorts of feminine and darling.
It’s not a look for me if it doesn’t involve a little bit of edge. Since the temperatures in London are still quite tolerable, a leather jacket does just the trick. To “mind the gap”, I paired the look with these amazing “Chanel-esque” over-the-knee-boots. I swear they fell from heaven and into Zara. The patent cap-toe is just perfect. To keep the look from being overly mono-tone, I added my favorite neutral cross-body from Marshalls and braided gem necklace from House of Gemmes.
Thanks for reading and stayed tuned for more London updates!
