ModCloth Style Session

I was recently approached by ModCloth.com to style one of their favorite dresses for the upcoming season via Polyvore. If you don’t already know, ModCloth.com is a vintage-inspired social shopping community with apparel and accessories that will make you squeal… And at a super affordable price range! The dress featured here today is the Palatte on Parade Dress, incorporating all sorts of bright colors for Spring – if it ever does arrive.

From head to toe, I’ve styled this dress with seven other pieces from the ModCloth.com collection starting with the teal beanie. Good hair day, or bad hair day, who doesn’t love a beanie? As a Chicago resident a beanie must be versatile across all seasons. Who am I kidding, we have to wear beanies year round 🙂 The teal color of this hat helps pull out the other teal/blue/green colors in the design of the dress.

To bring more attention to that color, I added this GORGEOUS statement necklace that would fit perfectly under the bend of the collar. I would sleep in this necklace I love it so much. The jewelry accessorizing doesn’t stop at the necklace – but it could 🙂 For me, If I’m going big on the necklace, I tend to be more subtle on my hands and wrists – it all doesn’t need attention. These V knuckle rings are exactly what I need; it’s the right amount of accessorizing to compliment the necklace and hat.

For the home stretch, I picked this gold bow detailed belt to cinch the waist – honey, we all need it. The military jacket is a spring staple, it wasn’t a question that I was going to incorporate it. Especially when you add the mint studded cross-body bag over it. Finally, lets talk about this bootie. It’s as if a sandal and a bootie got married and had a baby. It’s perfect.
