Casual in Carmel, CA

Happy Monday! While I’m three weeks removed from our California road trip, I’m still hanging on every memory – and the warm weather. Transitioning from wearing tights, to not wearing tights, to tights again, don’t event tease me like that. 

We left San Francisco – and the Tanner family – and headed straight to Carmel. Things/words that come to mind when I think of Carmel – European-esque, the Aspen of California, boutique, maxi dresses and Clint Eastwood. What more do you need?

We cozied up at the La Playa Hotel, which is just walking distance from the beach and downtown; La Playa also served as the gorgeous background for this post! For perusing around town I paired a simple cotton tee from Nordstrom, with my favorite lace skirt from the LOFT Fall collection. I added a few little accessories, both for function and fashion 🙂 

If you are lazy when it comes to washing your hair, like me, than this beaded headband from Francesca’s is the perfect solution. When it comes to my hair, I really have no shame. If I don’t have time, it doesn’t get washed; this ends up being my excuse 5 out of the 7 days a week. This look is super easy to do, especially when your hair is taking a break from shampoo – it’s more malleable. You put the headband over the top of all your hair. From there you tuck all the hair up and over the elastic band; essentially you are just wrapping and tucking your hair over and over until its all tucked in. Easy peasy.
