As the poolside days of summer come to an end and the smell of fall starts to become recognizable, it can only mean one thing…it is almost time to break out the jeans that have been hiding in our closets for the past few months!
While you dig those jeans out (and probably hit the mall for some new designs!), be sure to stop and check out the new Denim Collection from Maybelline. Maybelline has recently launched a second line of nail polish called Color Show Nail Lacquer and I must say, I am impressed with the new formula and bold colors you can purchase at the local Target, CVS or Walgreens for just a few dollars! The original denim inspired nail colors were made by Chanel last fall. As you can see, the colors are various shades of blue and are very pretty. But, Maybelline took it to the next level with the Denim Collection.
Storm Bird by NARS
The two shades in the Maybelline Denim Collection are Styled Out and Denim Dash. Styled Out is a deeper shade while Denim Dash represents lighter denim. Both shades have a satin like matte finish when they dry. The finish is like no other polish I have ever seen. You can pop on a top coat if you prefer a shine, but the unique finish helps bring out the ‘denim effect’ in my opinion. The small specks of glitter stay suspended in the polish rather than sinking to the nail and provide the look of threads in denim. A must try, especially for the price!
Another shade that has really caught my eye is made by NARS. Storm Bird is a murky shade of gray. The bottle looks like they poured the paint used on some military planes into it, but added some nice shine to make a unique gray shade for the fall. We all love deep colors for fall and winter and this will be a great addition!
OPI Germany Collection
Speaking of fall colors…OPI is launching a new collection in August called Germany. The collection includes deep, neutral and bright shades, all of which will look great this fall! I can’t wait to pick up a few. The blue jumps out to me as a perfect addition to my WVU gameday arsenal!
And, looking ahead to the winter months ahead, OPI will be launching a line based on James Bond this fall. This is the only photo that has been released of the colors, but they look lovely! From the deep hues on the left to the metallics and glitter in the middle and traditional dark shades on the right…I can’t pick a favorite quite yet!
