Opposites Attract

The Courtney Kerr

So remember in middle school when you celebrated Wacky Clothes Day? The objective was to mix and match anything and everything you could to create this head to toe mess of patterns and colors. As a matter of fact, I think my goal was to put on as many things from my closet as I could…….pegged jeans, scrunch socks and all. Well, in my adult years, I still continue to have Wacky Clothes Day…..with myself.

For the second time this week, the lovely Miss Courtney Kerr has inspired me yet again. A couple weeks ago she wore this leopard blouse by Equipment and these scarf printed shorts by H&M (similar by Kookai), and successfully paired two opposites. While wearing this exact combination at work i.e. scarf print shorts, is not the most kosher outfit,  I figured out a way to make these patterns and prints manageable in the work place.

Right, so there is a time and place for everything, just like there is a time and a place for pairing leopard with a print. After being all sorts of inspired from the photo above, I went shopping in my closet, and of course Ann Taylor came through in the clutch. WHICH, by the way, Ann Taylor is having absolutely massive sale this week…..in-store and online….bet you can’t guess where I’ll be spending my weekend 🙂 So many sales, so little time. Anyway, back to business…..I wanted to make this look work, at work…. I had a leopard print blouse in my closet that resembles the blouse above by Equipment, all I needed was a colorful printed bottom to replace the printed shorts and I would be one step closer! Then I found this bright printed skirt from Ann Taylor. Jackpot!

Now I’m 100% a heels person, but with the loud prints paired together and the combination of this skirt being too short for private school, I paired it with my nude patent flats from Me Too……as featured in many other posts of mine. Not feeling the skirt, try pairing the leopard blazer with these floral sateen pants from Anthropologie; pair them with a nude heel and you’ll be ready for that 9:00am meeting!

Cheeky Peach

Oh and don’t you worry your little hearts, I haven’t forgotten about jewels! My new all time favorite piece of jewelry hails from a boutique down in Atlanta, Georgia. I’ll tell you one thing, those southern girls know their fashion and they know their color! Check out the Cheeky Peach Facebook page and our the awesome bubble necklaces they have available, and that are 15% off right now! The owner of the store, Katie is such a peach and will deliver to you in the US. Bless her heart!

Well Sportsanistas, I hope that you have yourself a Wacky Clothes Day!

Happy Friday!
