Luck of the Draw

Spring is good for a few things…..spring fashion, the re-introduction to open toed shoes and the NFL Draft. Congrats to all the amazing athletes that were drafted in the First Round, and congrats especially to my boy Bruce Irvin for getting picked up by Seattle Seahawks….Let’s Go Mountaineers!

Today I have put together my top four draft picks for this upcoming season. With working in the sports industry comes long days and even longer months, therefore it’s important to find beauty products that are full-proof. As of lately I’m all about the anti-aging products; I’m throwing the flag on turning 30 for encroaching on my 20’s! These products are fantabuloso! They are like a plastic surgeon in a bottle…I swear! So some of these products may be a little pricey, but just like the NFL owners, you are making an investment in your team, so why not make the right investment?

The Garnier BB Cream Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector is youth in a bottle. I’m not a foundation person at all, so I have made the attempt here and there to try tinted moisturizers….double fail. It just seems that those products sit heavy on top of my skin…no bueno. I don’t want to call this a tinted moisturizer, but it’s in the family; it’s a cousin, but like the better looking, more funny, cousin. I was impressed by a few things….1) it’s ability to stay on my skin all day without making it oily 2) to continuously give my skin a subtle glow and 3) after application, my skin looks flawless…hollywood esque! The best part about this product is that it’s conveniently priced at $13.99 at any drug store.

Meet the Yves Saint Laurent Radiant Touch Touché Éclat. This is the cover-up that bows down to all cover-ups. With just two clicks every morning, you’ll erase any blemish or dark circle in a flash. I was shamefully stalking the Kardashians one day and saw that Kourtney uses this product, but she only applies after all face and eye make-up have be applied as well. The genius part is that it travels well. After putting in 12 hours and knowing that you may have 4 more to go, pop this bad boy out for a quick refresher and you’ll never get the “geez, you look tired today”……which by the way is probably the meanest thing to say to someone!

Marie Claire calls it “a gym session in a jar”. I’ve called it “my BFF”, “my plastic surgeon”, “the fountain of youth”; to Clarins, it’s called Clarins Extra Firming Body Lotion. What other lotion do you know of that firms, tightens and rebuilds your skin’s collagen? You probably don’t have an answer. Sure they recommend this lotion for those that have had weight loss or are pregnant, but there is nothing wrong with preventative measures. You shouldn’t wait till something happens to your body before taking action! Has the Airbourne movement taught us nothing 🙂 Anyway, I know its steep for lotion….60 bones….but the outcome is well worth it. I have seen and noticed a difference, even in my skins texture. Put your tax return to good use….

To close out our draft is the Idealist Even Skintone Illuminator by Estee Lauder. It had been some time since I visited an Estee Lauder counter; I think it was in 7th grade when Pleasures, their perfume, was all the rage. The saleswomen mentioned the words “high-tech” when describing this product and I was sold. Like the BB Cream, it’s purpose is to color correct and create an event skin tone. In addition to all that jazz it fights signs of aging; it’s like a little ninja in a bottle.

These products are like Martha Stewart recipes, they work on everyone.

Well folks, that is all she wrote for today! Have a great weekend!
