Fashion Week Favs

New York Fashion Week has come and gone, but the best part is yet to come in Fall 2012!

With working in the sport industry, I need runway fashion to be feasible and practical, otherwise its like window shopping…..if you know me, you’ll know that I hate window shopping.  For me, it’s important to be able to wear trends and keep a personal style in the sports industry, but all in a subtle way.

While stalking fashion week, I spotted a few pieces that would be easily transferable to the everyday. While in college I held a retail job at BCBG and since then I just haven’t been the same; no man will ever be as good as Max Azria and that’s the truth.  I would like to be a part of the “let’s keep colorblocking alive” movement. I think that it is safe to say that colorblocking is the word of the year, wouldn’t you agree? The colors, fabric and pleats all make me want to scream like a little girl; the movement of all his looks were so feminine and graceful. Moving on to the coat…..now this coat says, “take me Russia and lets sip on vodka”….I say, when should I book my flight? If I owned this coat I would probably be okay with never seeing Summer again….just maybe…

Moving on to the next man that stole my heart…..Calvin Klein. I adore the mixture of leather in his collection; it adds such an edgy element to the look, but ever so subtly. Wear those pants to work or wear them to Home Depot on a Saturday; it doesn’t matter where you wear them, they just need to be worn! To me outwear is almost an accessory, and especially in Chicago when during the winter months its all your are ever wearing. The tomato colored coat is something I’ve dreamt about…..Im sure of it….

What are some of your fashion week favs??? Do tell!!! It’s more fun when people talk to you 🙂
