Denim, denim, denim….get it? It’s the Mario Brothers theme song? Not funny enough for a Monday? 🙂 Fine, lets pretend we are fancy and call it chambray for today. Altogether now….chaaaaaambray.
Denim, excuse me, chambray is making a strong comeback and I like it. Its not just for rootin tootin country singers, cowboys and Brett Farve, but for all those fashion lovers, like me! This fabric has looked lovely in pant form for so long, so why not try it another way?
Lets talk about this chambray blouse from Jcrew; I know what you are thinking, can’t be done to work….you won’t get taken seriously. Sure. Fine. OR, as we all know, denim is as dressy as you make it. Can you take a pair of jeans from day to night? Well let’s do the same with a chambray blouse. This is where your accessorizing comes into play. Think statement necklace, think print/bright colored belt, think bright shoe, think bangles…..I mean the list could carry on.
Lets pair the above Jcrew denim shirt, with this Tahari skirt or this Jcrew skirt, add this H&M necklace for flair and belt to synch the waist….done and done.
It’s all about being strategic with your weekly wardrobe. Now while I fully support the chambray blouse with a skirt to work, there is a time and a place for it. Would I recommend wearing on it day where you have an event or meetings, probably not, then again you don’t have those days everyday….and if so, Im sorry for you.
Looking to rock the chambray again while not trying to have the ref throw a flag for a repeat offender? Try pairing it with a gorge colored pant like this from Jcrew. You should have no problem trying to find a colored pant at a good price right now…..they are EVERY WHERE…..I think the guy who owns the Shell station around the corner from me is selling some from his trunk…..along with $4.00/gallon for regular gas!!!
Lesson for the day, try something out of your comfort zone. This is another trend that won’t break the bank and I promise you will be pleased with it! Get inspired and go shopping 🙂
