Happy Hump Day all! Today I’m sharing some fun pictures and recommendations from the first day of our Ireland trip. We left Chicago last Tuesday and arrived on Wednesday morning to the half-sunny, but green, Ireland. Now, I live in Chicago and know what bad weather is, well, that was until I went to Ireland. On that Wednesday it managed to rain, snow, sleet and HAIL within a span of five hours – never have I ever! Any way, we made our way through in our semi-spring / winter clothes. We survived on Jameson, tea and crescent sandwiches. Not a bad first day. Today I’m sharing an easy travel look on what to wear in Dublin for a long day of sightseeing.[ezcol_1half][/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end][/ezcol_1half_end]After we checked into the hotel we made our way to Trinity College (seen below). It’s one of the oldest universities in the UK loaded with rich history and culture. We walked around the grounds and tried to soak in my some knowledge. The architecture was stunning and the campus was loaded with so many blooming trees – thankfully they are in full bloom as we hid under one during the hail story.

After our visit to Trinity College we made our way to the Shelbourne Hotel for high tea. We were overzealous with the tea and scheduled it for nearly every day. When in the UK I suppose 🙂 We indulged in some local teas, noshed on crescent sandwiches and inhaled the most delights desserts! (see picture below) Ah heaven! Thank god they gave us two of everything 🙂

We were verbally assaulted by some freak in the park, but we didn’t care, we were in Ireland. After the parks we headed over the to the best part of our day – Jameson. Jameson treated us to a lovely tour of their Dublin distillery. Normally I can’t be bothered with those types of tours, but the history behind the company and product is super interesting. At the end of the tour we were gifted with personalized Jameson bottles – perfect for my bar cart![ezcol_1half][/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end][/ezcol_1half_end]After the tour we made our way over to the Brazen Head Pub – the oldest pub in Ireland. I mean, we had to, for the nostalgia of it all right? The bar itself was order than America! Crazy!

That night we went to dinner and had likely one of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. The Little Kitchen stole our heart and if you ever find yourself in Dublin, you MUST go there. It’s a small restaurant with a menu that changes each week based on the local available produce. The portions were very American, so we felt right at home. The best part? No corkage fee – finding a bottled of wine when your dinner spot is BYOB with no corkage is no problem for two ladies. Since we were literally all over town and spent the day walking, I needed something that was fashionable, yet functional. I scored this dress from H&M for only $15!! I mean. I went shopping for the trip, but really struggled to find anything since it was still winter in Ireland, but spring everywhere else! Ugh. I brought one of my favorite coats from ASOS that has some fun military-like detailing.

This backpack from Linea Pelle was the saving grace to my trip experience. I wore it everywhere, it carried Bertha (my camera) and so much more. And who doesn’t like to be hands free on a vacation!
