As the sun slowly starts to set on Summer, ahhhhh, and as the cool brisk temperatures make their way back in to our every day, it’s time to start thinking about how you protect your hair and skin in the process. If your summer was anything like mine it involved tons of sunshine, sunscreen and copious amounts of sea salt spray for my hair! Sure all those things are great for you, who doesn’t love a little vitamin D! In Chicago the temperatures are always so extreme so it’s super important to take care of your hair and skin! Well today I’m sharing Transitional Beauty Care with Marshalls and how you can switch your beauty care from summer to fall in FOUR easy steps!
Morning Time Care
Thinking about Transitional Beauty Care with Marshalls, each season I try to switch-up my face wash, especially in the fall and winter. When the weather is really dry outside it’s important to constantly hydrate your skin. In the summer I lean more towards lightweight skincare and then switch to something heavier in the fall. I found this amazing rose scented gentle face wash that hydrates my face throughout the day! For continued hydration I found this adorable, yes I buy things for their packaging, hydrating mist that smells like a dream! After I’ve put on my make-up, I spritz a little on my face for some additional hydration and it duels as a make-up setting spray.
Night Time Care
More often than not we forgot how crucial our sleep time is, not only for you body, but for our skin! It’s likely the only time in the day where you have the opportunity to sit still am I right? After all the summer sun exposure your skin needs to restart and begin rebuilding collagen again. A hydrating sheet mask, I found these at Marshalls for $5.99, is the easiest way to get that process started and it only takes 15 minutes to set in. After I’m done with the mask I let all the leftover serum from the mask absorb in to my skin for a deeper hydration. Post mask, Ill either apply a hydrating face serum or a collagen booster that will kick in overnight giving me a healthy glow in the morning. I like alternating between the two each night so that my skin doesn’t become susceptible to either one! I scored both from Marshalls for under $20 total!
After all that sunshine, it’s time to give your skin some TLC. Exfoliating is the perfect way to kick start your skin renewal routine! I found the mother of all exfoliators at Marshalls with this coffee scrub – not only does it exfoliate your skin, but the coffee ingredient in the product helps tighten and firm your skin! Oh did I mention it smells so good you’ll want to eat it! Post exfoliation, its time to lather up with a really heavy intense moisture cream. This detoxing lotion seemed like the perfect fit for my summer to fall transitional routine! Giving me everything I need to rebuild healthy skin!And of course, I’m a big sandal person in the summer, who isn’t? I kill my feet all summer wearing shoes with no support and just running them in to the ground. Come fall, they need some help! A pumice stone is a great way to rejuvenate those summer sandal feet and make them smooth again! It’s like treating yourself to an at home pedicure.
The last piece to the puzzle and the most forgotten element – your hair! I truthfully could do a better job of taking care of my hair in the summer, but I don’t. I color my hair like crazy and take it out in the sun unprotected – all things you shouldn’t do. Find a good repairing conditioner or mask and work it in to your routine a couple times a week. It helps re-build the shine back in your hair and coats it with protection!
