Apple Pie Moonshine Cocktail
Happy Tuesday friends! We know that Thanksgiving is all about the food right? Well, it’s important to have something to wash it all down with so today I’m sharing a Thanksgiving cocktail idea! I learned this recipe while living in West Virginia a few years back and it’s always been a fan favorite. This year I’m taking the tailgating cocktail to Thanksgiving!
Today I’m sharing that recipe with you to bring a little holiday spice to your Thanksgiving cocktail menu! It’s a quick and easy to make – the recipe makes enough for you to share with your neighbors too 🙂
Enjoy!
APPLE PIE MOONSHINE COCKTAIL
What you need:
1 750ml bottle of 190 proof Everclear – or if you know a guy…..
1 Gallon Apple Cider
1 Quart Apple Juice
3 Cups of Brown Sugar
1 Cup of White Sugar
10 Cinnamon Sticks
1 Large Stock Pot
6 Mason Jars (Quart-sized)
How to be a moonshiner
In the large stock pot, combine the apple cider, apple juice, cinnamon sticks and bring them all to a simmer. Add the sugars to the pot and stir for 5 to 10 minutes, or until dissolved. Remove the pot from heat and let the pot cool for HOURS. The key is to NOT evaporate the alcohol content – that would be bad. After the mixture has cooled, add three cups of the Everclear to the mixture. Pour the mixture across the 6 mason jars – equally distribute the cinnamon across the jars. Over time the cinnamon flavors will out weigh the alcohol. Trouble or blast in a glass?
Pour over ice to serve with some cinnamon sticks for garnish and you’ll be the talk of Thanksgiving!
That looks delicious! I can’t wait to try it!
