Another weekend has come and gone, and with each passing weekend Fall is getting closer and closer….no! Every Monday I feel like I have this conversation with you all, or myself, on my severe anxiety on summer leaving us. Maybe it’s me being a Chicagoan, but I know what lies ahead and I’m not ready for it – we’ve already starting planning our 2016 vacations so that there is a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel.

Speaking of Fall, today I’m sharing a fun 70’s inspired look with this Nasty Gal lace up blouse. 70’s inspired fashion was something we saw at New York Fashion week back in the Spring – we saw flares, fringe, the rebirth of the color currant. I dig the whole vibe and couldn’t wait to put together a few pieces to show homage to the 70’s in a mild way.

Pairing this lace up blouse with the perfect flares was a great way to gently ease into the trend without saying “Hi, I’m here”. A great way to test out a new trend is to incorporate a few pieces here and there to see if it’s something you want to incorporate into your personal style. I say you should always try something at least once to say you did – my favorite way of testing out a trend is to  wear it while running errands. Try something new while heading to Target, the grocery store, etc – it’s the easiest way to test drive something without the insecurities.

Have a happy Monday all! Don’t forget to purchase your copy of the September issue of Redbook – check out the full post here.

  2. what a cool background! I love how it makes your bright white pop!! and that’s such a neat top. I’d love to wear it in a black version.

  3. 1. I love your hair color and cut!
    2. Loving the top and how it laces up… it’s so different, a little revealing, but still classy!
    3. Those booties are everything!

  4. This reminds me of the late 90s early 2000s lace up look! I loved it back then, and then looked back like “what the heck?!” lol. It is cool to see it coming back into style!

  5. I CANNOT and could NEVER handle the cold in Chicago. I don’t even want to fly through Chicago in the fall and winter…forget it. Good on you for surviving! Love the bright & run outfit! xx

  6. This 70s inspired look is so good! You look good in everything you wear, but this look is perfect on you. I’m really digging your flares. I bought a pair last year and finally got them hemmed so I can’t wait to style them for fall.

  7. You are rockin’ that top! Cute background too 🙂 And I’m from CLE Ohio and we have similar weather, so I know what you’re dreading! Being in the south makes me actually miss it though… don’t hold me to that when I move back though 😉

  8. Seriously…everything about this look is on point & trending for Fall…you have it nailed down to a T! The denim and the fringe back are killer!
