Friends – when did it turn September 7? I mean time really needs to just stop. My fear and anxiety of winter is getting worse with each day. AH!! Anyone want to migrate out west with me? Ok, I digress….Labor Day weekend was crazy pants! My best friend got married to her best friend in Segovia, Spain – I left Chicago Friday night and was back in Chicago on Sunday night? Crazy? Maybe. But, when you get older you value good friendships and will do the right things to be there for your friends! I’m so happy that I went – Ill share more of my travel pains on the next page! I was home in time for Labor Day so that I could sport this Multicolor Striped Off The Shoulder Blouse in the Chicago heat – it pairs perfectly with shorts and will look even better with some flares!
So let me try to condense my crazy travel story in to a few sentences. Ok. Here we go. I get to O’Hare on Friday, we board the plane like normal. The captain gets on the intercom (never a good sign), to say maitence is on board (an even WORSE sign). There was a wire hanging from the plane, the needed a new part, blah blah – this is when I stopped listening and start to get anxious about missing my flight. I called American to see if there were some other options – the lady proceeded to tell me I should have left a day earlier. Bye Felicia!
We finally took off, three hours late, and made it to JFK with 45 mins to spare before my next flight. This meant I had time to STUFF my face with pizza aka carb load up before shitty airplane food. I finally arrive to the gate, two pizza slices full later, to learn that the plane has flown too many miles that day and we need to find a new one. Ok. Now, I don’t know how this works, but doesn’t someone manage that? Just saying. We FINALLY take off and land in Madrid two hours after my scheduled landing. Now mind you, I had to catch a train to get to the main train station so that I could take a train to Segovia. Following that?
I go to exchange my train ticket, since I missed the first train due to flight delays. No can do – I had to buy a new one. Rip-off. I get to the subway and the door closes on me – I miss another train. I finally make it to the train station and hop on the 12:00pm that gets me in at 12:27pm. Awesome, the wedding starts at 12:30pm. I bolt to the hotel, which was amazing see here, shower like a ninja and make my way to the ceremony. I’m there with 15 minutes to spare and all is good! We dancing the night away and enjoyed some of the most amazing Spanish wine and cheese – no joke, I’m still full! All in all it was a fabulous day and I was so honored to be there for my friends! If you ever have 24 hours – go to Segovia 🙂
This look, and a few more I’ll be wearing this week, are my homage to summer. This is that time of year where we start to complain about the heat and have nothing to wear, because it’s fall, but it’s a sauna outside. There is all sorts of conflict happening. Well no time for that when you have this Multicolor Striped Off The Shoulder Blouse – it’s a great piece to have for the end of summer and start of fall. It could as double as a fabulous game day piece! For today, I paired it with these distressed denim shorts and my summer go-to, these nude mules!
