Well it’s Wednesday and I’m back from Miami stuck in the Chicago snow – just where I want to be when the sun is shinning elsewhere. Today I’m reliving my Miami days and sharing some of the fun and colorful pieces I wore during the trip – my skin felt left out and turn bright red after 30 minutes in the sun :/ It’s funny how things change the order you get – I get motion sick now and sun burned…such is life. Disclaimer – do not mind the horribly awful red skin and tan lines as you progress through this post. Do pay attention to these amazing LOUISE ET CIE Kaelyn Lace Up Sandals that you need asap!
Before our trip I went hunting for some bathings suits to add to my collection – side note, this is the perfect time of year to do so because everyone is pushing out their spring fashion! I stumbled across this gorgeous one-piecefrom Target (yes, Target) while doing a little pursuing! I couldn’t believe my eyes and then when I saw the price I almost screeched! It was perfect in every sense with just the right amount of cheeky – if you know what I mean. The color is one my favorite features and the inspiration for the impromptu shoot on the pink beach chair – I love it when a plan works out!
I layered the swimsuit with this striped goodness from Choies – it’s a fabulous remake of the MLM Label and Tibi version, the only difference is this version is $33 – jackpot!! It makes for a really great summer off-the-shoulder dress and an even better cover-up – except for when you fall asleep wearing it and get seriously awkward tan lines. I wish I was kidding – I have a straight line across my arms and chest – you can’t take me anywhere.
These LOUISE ET CIE Kaelyn Lace Upare going to be a summer closet staple and I can’t wait. It’s such an easy shoe to wear and can be dressed down or up in a snap. The shoes come from the high-end family of Vince Camuto (Louise et Cie) – Vince Camuto has never done me wrong and has completely won my heart over again with these sandals.
For this trip we stayed at the lovely Surfcomber (Kipton Hotel) in South Beach. The location of the hotel was in prime South Beach location and easy trekking to the SLS (amazing cocktails), Mr. Chow (the best spicy margarita in the game and Taquiza(the best tacos on that side of the Mississippi and they serve Panther coffee!!!). In Miami, location is key – the more walking you’re doing, the less cocktail sipping you’re doing!
