Well helllooooo Friday – I thought I’d never see you again! I’ve been in Manchester, England all week for work – England is a beautiful place, but I’m ready to come home to sleep in my own bed and start my spring cleaning purge! Today I’m sharing a look from our Milan trip – we took a day trip to Lake Como and fell deeply in love with its charm. As soon as we arrived, I immediately had an image of the charming town from the 60’s with the likes of Frank Sinatra and old Hollywood actresses roaming the streets.
The common misconception is that Lake Como is a place when in fact that is just the name of the lake with its surrounding towns – Como being the most popular. The city of Como is surrounded by stone walls left from the medieval times. We walked the Duomo, had an espresso, ate lunch at La Vita E’Bella (eat their risotto) and then took a boat tour to see some of the GORGEOUS homes from the lake. “Toto, we are not in Kansas anymore” – the lake was lined with the most colorful lake side villas that gave me SERIOUS real estate envy. We did not see Villa de Clooney – although we asked 🙂 We then took a funicular to Brunate which is a little town at the top of the mountain. From there you get to see some amazing panoramic views of the lake and Como.
