Yay for Wednesdays! Only two more days until the weekend – who is ready? Today I’m sharing some fun pics from our trip to the Ashford Castle in Cong, Ireland. So I’ve skipped a few days of our trip, but will come back to them soon – I couldn’t hold out on the Ashford Castle and these platform oxfords any longer! The Ashford Castle was an absolute dream – it was charming, it was ornate, it was perfect! On our second day at the castle we walked around the grounds – all 350 acres of them and this Jcrew double breasted blazer was the perfect travel partner.
I had seen pictures and read reviews on the castle so we just had to see it for ourselves. We were in awe from the moment we arrived – when security has to ring the front desk from the main gate that you have arrived, you have indeed arrived. Once we settled in our room, we explored the grounds, and town, on bikes (more to come in another post). We planned out our activities for the trip and then found the bar 🙂 After all, we were on vacation. After we had high tea (in this room – I die), we walked around the gardens. So the pictures of the high team room don’t event do the room justice. I think the waiter had to ask us three times what we wanted before I picked my jaw off the floor. When walked around the gardens we discovered so many beautiful tucked away corners! I highly recommend making the trip one day if you can.
For an easy day of walking, I started with this perfect Jcrew double breasted blazer that goes with just about anything! While it was freezing in Dublin and Cork, we finally saw better weather on the west side of Ireland, the perfect time for me to iron these linen pants! They are an oldie, but a goodie from LOFT last season – I just love the color! I found a similar version here – they are a dead ringer for the ones I have. I layered the look with this scarf that I lived in all week, and on the plane. The neutral color makes it easy to pair with just about anything for nearly every climate. Thanks H&M – $17.99 has never looked so good! Now I can find comfort in just about any shoes and I couldn’t resist leaving these nude platform oxfords at home – I needed to bring them with me! I needed a little height so that the pants didn’t shrink me and these were the perfect answer. Sure, they can be a little overwhelming, BUT, I say you have to try everything once so why not start with platform oxfords 🙂
