Helllllooooo Monday! I’m back from the weekend and ready to grab the week by the horns! This isn’t my usual Monday mantra, but Chicago is on such a high it’s hard not to be happy right now! After 75 years, the Chicago Cubs are finally headed to the World Series and the Billy Goat curse is has been cracked! The city was electric on Saturday night and it was super fun to take part in all the festivities. Now its back to reality, but the best part of reality is this floral maxi dress. Styling this floral maxi dress for fall and wearing it to work with a pair of leather skinnies for the perfect combo!
When I first spotted this floral maxi dress, I nearly squealed! It was styled on the Banana Republic site on Olivia Palermo (die for her) has a house coat over a turtleneck and skinnies. I feel in love with the dress and the way it was styled. Since it’s still 1,000 degrees here in Chicago, I styled it somewhere in the middle, but cant’ wait to copy Banana’s styling for when the temperatures drop!
Since the dress buttons up the front, it was easy to pair the look with these leather skinnies. It elevates the maxi dress in to a shirt dress and adds to it’s stylebility score! I think its a great way to compromise with the weather instead of wearing tights. I’m realllly try to hold off on bringing those bag boys out, because I know once they are out that’s it! Tight season for like 8 months!!
I also styled the dress in a way that it could be easily worn to work – it’s important that pretty much everything in my closet is easy to transition from one life moment to the next! Every girl needs a work tote to match her look and this Lo & Sons bag is my saving grace! The Seville from Lo & Sons is such a chic bag – it has thoughtful compartments for all my work items and a stylish exterior!
