Cliffs of Moher & More
Oh today might be one of my favorite posts for none other than the memories that were created on this particular day. We had a long day of traveling ahead of us so comfort was key – I threw all my fashion rules out the door. When its freezing outside and you have 5 hours to spend in a car you think, how can I disguise these sweats. Well, thanks to this chambray shirt dress, I didn’t have to do a lot of disguising. [ezcol_1half][/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end][/ezcol_1half_end]We started our day at 6am after a night out in Cork celebrating Becca’s 31st birthday! The night ended in an epic snapchat story…and I don’t even have snapchat. So that all being said when 6am came, we did not go easily. After 10 croissants, we were off to the Cliffs of Moher (pictured above). We arrived to the Cliffs and were in awe of what we saw – they wear gorgeous and the weather was cooperating. Well, for a short period of time. After about an hour we saw this squall heading for land – then the mass exodus started. Not us! We bought ponchos and waited it out. Sure, that is probably the reason why I got a cold and sore throat, but the odds of me going back to the Cliffs are slim.[ezcol_1half][/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end][/ezcol_1half_end]Now that we were soaking wet, we decided to get back on the road again to start heading towards the Ashford Castle, but couldn’t do so without stopping for lunch at Gregans Castle. Gregans Castle was super charming and located in the middle of nowhere – it was so lovely having such a serene and peaceful lunch! Following lunch, we got back on the road again to head to Ashford Castle – the final destination for the day. We drove, or I should say my friend Becca drove, through the craziest, narrowest roads! I was the worst passenger driver and was squealing the entire time! We finally arrived to the castle and were just in awe. In awe of the location, the property, the pomp and circumstance, all of it!
We rented bikes and road around the Castle and found adorable little nooks as the sun was setting. We were on the hunt for sheep – all we wanted to do was pet one…just one. My Nike iD’s came in handy for sure – we were on our feet the entire time. These sneakers are the perfect combination of fashion and function – I love the two different textures! And of course I had to get them branded – how could I resist![ezcol_1half]
[/ezcol_1half] [ezcol_1half_end][/ezcol_1half_end]Since we were riding bikes and walking around, I needed a bag that could carry all of our crap and essentially be out of the way! This Linea Pelle backpack was the answers to all our prayers. I wore it nearly everyday and never swapped it! I love nothing more than being handsfree – especially on vacation! The combo of this chambray shirt dress and distressed skinnies was the perfect combination for a day of traveling and biking! Now, can we go back?
I visited the Cliffs back in 2013 and absolutely fell in love. Looks as beautiful as ever! Thank you for sharing.
