Faux Fo Sho

IMG_4705Happy Monday friends! Here we are again starting another week – the only thing different about this week is that it’s 19 degrees out!!! Chicago, I love you, but I hate you. This weather is no joke – walking outside today I feel like I was playing some survival of the fittest game.

Yesterday I finally got reconnected with the city, and my friends! I headed over to the Currency Exchange Cafe on the Chicago’s South Side. It was well worth the trek in 19 degrees – I ate the best brunch OF MY LIFE and had fantastic company (my bestie Becca). The menu was amazing and it took us close to 30 minutes to make a decision – I’m pretty sure the server wanted us gone as soon as we arrived. When she brought my coffee I of course took 100000 photos against the amazing painted tile table – (see below). Anyway, we landed on the fried chicken sandwich with greens and the chilaquiles. All is right in the world.

IMG_4676 IMG_4660For yesterdays brunch look, I needed to SERIOUSLY bundle up (it was 19 degrees) and this Ann Taylor Faux Fur jacket was the answer to my chilly prayers. The color of the jacket is the most perfect pink / peachy shade – I found it to be such a unique color and something I needed to add to my neutral collection. And today is your lucky day because this jacket is 60% off – you’re welcome! I layered the jacket (layered being the operative word here) over this gorgeous, and mildly itchy mohair sweater. It is not only one of my favorite pieces, but it is so simple and chic – it makes me feel all Yeezus inside.

Because this is Sunday we are talking about, I threw on some of my favorite distressed denim pants from J.Crew and these fab olive booties from Ann Taylor for some height. Add them all together and you are 5 seconds to chic – on a Sunday nonetheless.

Enjoy the rest of your Monday!

  1. That peachy jacket looks so cozy and chic! Love it. And yes, I see why you took 1,000 pics against your table. What a gorgeous environment to brunch!
