Packing for London Town

There are two parts to preparing for a trip – 1) the excitement of booking the trip and filling your itinerary with sightseeing, good eats, little cafes and shopping, and 2) the dust finally settles, its the day of your flight and you have packed nothing – nothing! A vacation would be so much more enjoyable if your closet just packed itself  – I’m thinking something along the lines of the computer operated closet from Clueless, but for packing.

For me, selecting luggage was never important. All I needed was the right amount of space and I was happy. Well, if Nike can design fashionable fitness wear, then bold, chic luggage can exist too. This houndstooth luggage from Marshalls had me at hardcase. I had always wanted to try hardcase luggage, so this felt like the right time to try it! It’s a skill to pack efficiently, but the inside of this suitcase serves as a step by step manual to do it right. It almost made me happy while packing – almost. As if the pattern wasn’t enough for me to spot my luggage going around the luggage carousel, I needed to add a bold luggage tag – just to make everyone aware it was indeed mine 🙂 It was easy shopping for my trip to the UK – I filled my suitcase with a lot of neutrals (as you can see above), knits...

London Fashion Week SS15 Trends

It’s an exciting time to be in London at the moment – Fashion Week has arrived and style mavericks from all over the world have descended on Somerset House to celebrate. We’ve seen some fantastic new collections unveiled over the last few days and one thing is clear, minimalist, normcore and utility chic looks are here to stay. At Amanda Wakeley we totally fell for her relaxed lines, ethereal shades and soft layering, like  the  gorgeous three quarter length dress below. Check out our own take on this elegant look with our effortlessly flattering Iris dress in ivory. We also loved Emilia Wickstead’s interpretation of the minimalist trend with her combination of muted colours with splashes of sunshine yellow and tangerine orange. Our own designs are all about comfort without sacrificing style so it’s made a refreshing change to see so many catwalk looks that will translate to the high street. We’ve always known looking amazing is about feeling comfortable and body confident, so three cheers for all those designers creating clothes we really want to wear! It’s usually the most experimental and outrageous looks that grab the headlines at Fashion Week but yet another designer attracting attention for her discerning colour palette and graceful lines was J. JS Lee.  Who said work wear meant being suited and booted? If you want to emulate her mellow style, take a look at our Marion dress in navy – chic and smart but...
